The case against Paxton, a Republican, has been delayed multiple times since he was indicted months into his first term. He now faces an unrelated House ethics investigation into allegations of abuse of office.

Paxton tops the list of potential witnesses, according to a copy obtained by The Dallas Morning News, The list also includes a woman with whom he is alleged to have had an affair and the attorney general’s GOP primary challengers.
