A week has passed since an 18-year-old was fatally shot in his bedroom in Fort Worth with no arrests having been announced in the case.

Officers responded the afternoon of Aug. 28 to the 3600 block of College Avenue and found a gunshot victim dead inside a bedroom, according to police.

The victim was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiners’ office as John Paul Morin. He died from multiple gunshot wounds, records say.

He was killed when multiple suspects entered his home “in an apparent attempt to rob the location,” police said. After the shooting, the suspects left the scene in a light-colored vehicle.

Police said Monday that the investigation is ongoing.

A fundraising page set up to cover funeral expenses said Morin, whose nickname was “Peezy,” was close to his family. The description said he was a brother, son, grandson, cousin, and uncle, adding that “all the kids looked up to him” and he was “a very caring person” who loved video games, swimming and football.
