Mavericks star Luka Doncic reportedly extends shoe contract with Jordan Brand

The Mavericks’ superstar signed a contract extension with shoe powerhouse that will extend through 2029.

Expect Luka Doncic to be a poster boy for Jordan Brand for years to come.

The Mavericks’ superstar signed a contract extension with shoe powerhouse that will extend through 2029, Marc Stein reported Thursday evening. Doncic already made Jordan Brand history when he became the first European-born-and-raised signature athlete when he signed his first deal in 2019. Doncic has only elevated his career since then, leading a Dallas Mavericks team and gaining the respect of his successful peers like Stephen Curry.

It’s been a significant offseason for Doncic. He got engaged, announced his own docuseries this week, announced a 3-vs-3 tournament on a floating court and will lead the Slovenia national team against Venezuela on Saturday in the FIBA World Cup.

But back to the most significant event going on for Doncic: Shoes.

Doncic’s newest signature shoe, the Luka 2, was released in July. According to a Nike news release from June, Doncic’s new shoe was designed with nonlinear movements in mind, in order to better facilitate that Luka Magic Mavs fans have come to expect. To make that possible, the Luka 2 boasts a combo of full-length Formula 23 and the IsoPlate (“Jordan-only innovations”) working in conjunction with a new medial Cushlon 3.0 wedge foam.

The Luka 2 is currently available on the Nike website for $130.
